Julieta Venegas is a renowned Mexican singer, instrumentalist and songwriter. With over six released albums to date, Venegas has sold more than 9 million copies of her albums worldwide. The Washington Post describes Venegas as a different sort of artist. “While many of her songs will entice you to get up and dance, there is also an intimacy to her work that comes through even for those whose Spanish doesn’t go much beyond “hola.” Throughout the years, Venegas has received myriad nominations and recognitions, including winning several GRAMMY Awards and five Latin GRAMMY Awards. With Moments, Venegas’ 6th album, released in March of 2013, it is evident that this she is continuing her dominance in the Latin music world.
Carla Morrison is a Mexican Alternative-Pop songstress with international recognition who released her debut, self-produced EP back in 2010. Only two years later, she won 2 Latin GRAMMY Awards – Best Alternative Album and Best Alternative Song – for her most recent and most personal album yet, Dejenme Llorar (Let Me Cry) released in 2012. Her angelically peaceful and lamenting voice brings listeners on an emotional rollercoaster with moments of both heartbreak and uplifting hope, which touch both their ears and their hearts. MTV Iggy has taken notice of Morrison’s captivating presence when she stands on stage with just her pure voice and a guitar, boastings that her “no-frills approach to music-making comes easy for an artist like Morrison, who has talent to spare.”
Named by TIME Magazine as an artist “poised for US stardom” Alex Anwandter brings together 80′s-influenced dance music and emotional songwriting, presented with an engaging live performance full of intimacy and showmanship. His solo debut Rebeldes features poignant lyrics that tug at heart-strings, while crisp percussion and upbeat basslines keep the body moving. The album has been featured everywhere from PerezHilton.com to Vice, MTV Iggy and Billboard, with NPR celebrating his music video homage to “Paris is Burning” for its courageous message of equality, love, and acceptance.
